Hello and welcome to Day 4 of our March Rubber Stamp & Die Release Showcase!

On Wednesday (21 March) Whimsy Stamps released this month's rubber designs, new Shapeology dies and new Shape EZ templates. From then until 27 March the Whimsy Stamps DT and Special Guests are showcasing these fabulous new goodies with a daily mini blog hop and I am part of today’s hop!

Each mini blog hop has a new release prize hidden somewhere along the way and you have 24hrs to enter each prize draw. To be entered into today's mini blog hop prize draw, be sure to leave a comment on ALL of the DT's posts listed below by 12.00PM EST tomorrow. All winners will be announced on the Whimsy blog on 28 March.

Today, I have a little project to show you.  Do you remember the other day when I made the paper bag card and told you if you made this not to throw away the top? Well, here is what you do with the top portion that was cut off that measures 6"x6".  You can make it smaller, but I wanted it big.

Cut a piece of designer paper 6"x12" and fold to a 6"x6" cardfold like below.  I distressed the edges first.

Now, glue the designer paper to the bag top piece with the fold on the portion that was cut.

It will now look like this creating a pouch, the fold of course, on the sides.

Now just decorate and decide on a closure.  I punched two holes and ran ribbon through it, but I think it would be nice to add a flap of sorts that pulled over the top.  The image was too large to add one for this card.

Wha la!  A "pouch card" haha! I love that it can expand very nicely to accomodate all sorts of gifts.

Card Ingredients:

Stamps:  Sylvia Zet for Whimsy - Amy
Inks:  Distress Inks
Paper:  Tim Holtz Shabby Vintage Paper Pad
Tools:  Whimsy Fence, MS Frond Punch, Quikutz Photo Corner
Embellishments:  25mm Pink Open Rose, Lilies, 15mm White Open Rose, Rosehips, Vintage Seam binding, and self adhesive pearls all from Wild Orchid Craft, Crochet flower from a friend, Hemp String, doily from stash

Do you looooove the fence or what???? I just snipped off the bird and house for the one side.  I also had a ball coloring this very, very sweet Amy!! She makes me smile just looking at her!!!  Sylvia has a way of capturing sweetness!

  40. Hi Dena,
you are so very clever and your ideas for cards always give us a little extra and I love it.
This pouch card is a fabulous idea and I would love it to send someone some special handmade gift tags. Will have to 'borrow' this idea from you I think as my mind is now starting to churn out other ways to use it. I think it has to be one of those cards you need to file in your brain for future uses.
A lovely end to the hop today, thank you Dena.
Best wishes and take care, Linda
