A Graduation Card!

Some of you may know that my daughter, Alyssa, is graduating college this week!!! Whoo Hoo! Go girl!!! I am so proud of her.  She has had a wonderful 4 years at A&M University and is now focusing on getting into nursing school.  She is graduating with a degree in Nutrition, but has always wanted to go into nursing and then further to Nurse Practitioner, so....... her school is not done, but she has her start.  I made her this card to encourage her to strive to her dreams.  I always tell her that the world is at her feet, she just has to make something of it.

Anyhow, on to my card haha! I used the very adorable Tilda that I got  from Magnolia Sweden and colored her with my Distress Marker FINALLY!!! Hello!!! I had been waiting on those suckers for far too long haha!  I'm a bit rushed today, but will give details later on for using them.  I did struggle a bit I must say eek!

I almost NEVER do insides, I know, so sad, but I did for her card to finish out the sentiment. Yep, glitter, glitter everywhere haha.  I cleaned it up after I took the photo.

I used the Milled Lavender marker for her outfit which is a totally different color than my reinker.  Thank goodness, because my reinker is NOT lavender at all, but a greyish color, so this is more true to what I think of for lavender.

Here you see the gorgeous flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts!! Gotta love me some flowers huh?

Card Recipe:

Stamps:  Magnolia -Tilda Catching Stars
Inks:  Distress Ink Markers
Paper: We R memory Keepers - Contton Tail
Tools:  MS Pine Branch Punch, Nesties, Whimsy Die - Notables 3

I am entering this card into the Crafting Life's Pieces challenge where they have a gorgeous sketch as always!

Thank you so much for visiting me today.  I sure do appreciate it!

Hugs, Dena

Hi Dena,
This is such a lovely card and a perfect Graduation card for a special daughter. I have a piece of prose that I would like to send for your daughter. It is my Louisa May Alcott:-

Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations,
I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty
Believe in them and follow where they lead.

Congratulations Alyssa, never let go of your dreams, keep them safe within to help you get through when the road gets a little hard.
All the best Linda xx

Wow, dena your cards are always stunning and this is no exception.
Huge congrats to your daughter too.
Please do a demo with the markers, especially which paper you use, I've got them and only use them to highlight bits-but helps with the hair.
Thanks for joining us for this challenge at
CLP Challenges

Love that luscious lace and the sentiment is PERFECT! Need I mention your colouring? hehe! Well it is TRULY FABULOUS as always! Love it all!

ps .. you said your Milled Lavender was more greyish? You know .. mines is more LIGHT barely there pinkish. It's not so lavender either. I wonder if each batch they make comes out different or something? hmmmm.

Firstly..congratulations to Alyssa!
I'm sure all her hard work and dedication will pay off :)

Such a beautiful card Dena...awesome colouring as always, I look forward to hearing any more tips you have about the DI Markers, I haven't had a chance to try colouring a full image with them yet but I needed a bit of Aged Mahogany and my re-inker was empty so I used the marker pen and it was a totally different shade to the re-inker! But I actually preferred the marker shade so it gives me an extra colour shade to play with.

Tildas...I don't own any Tildas (I don't like them but please don't tell anyone!!) and then I saw this card...so I had to go and order this stamp...and a couple more, like I don't have enough rubber! Bad girl you are, leading me astray :)

Hugs Elaine ♥♥♥
