Girl Sledging!

Hello everyone!  I know, I sure am slow at the crafting these days, but you know how you lose your mojo sometimes? Well, that has happened to me.  I am in dire need of some Christmas cards, so I thought I would work on this little cutie from Lili of the Valley called "Girl Sledging".  It's funny, because I guess in the UK they say sledging and here in the US we would say sledding.  When I first saw that, I thought it was a typo haha!  Anyhow, I am in a red/green mood it seems, so here is my card:

I think she is a DOLL!!!! Love how she is hanging on to the cute bunny too!

I colored her with..................Distress Markers! Yep, you heard me right!  I definitely found the colors to be different than my refills.  The red I used was Fired Brick, but it was a bit too orangey so I went over it with my refill Aged Mahogany to get a more true red for the papers.  For the most part it was all done with the markers.  Oh, I did shadows with Black Soot refills.  Not sure I like them any better, but they are interesting to work with.

I used a snow texture in the corners and the border die is from Memory Box - Frostyville Border and the snowflakes are a Stampin Up die.  I used the cute Christmas Grungy Messages from LOTV also, which have proven to be VERY popular. Oh let's not forget the paper pad Classic Christmas!

Here's a close up of the stamp. You know you love her!

Don't forget that Lili of the Valley now has those sweet Geisha girls for sale.  Go have a look, they may just fall into your basket!

Have a super wonderful Fall day! The weather is so wonderful here, I stay outside most of the day.

Thank you for your visit!!

Hugs, Dena

I don't think your mojo is missing hun - this is amazing! Love the reds and greens and the image is so gorgeous. Impressed that you persevered with the DMs (I can't get to grips with them - maybe I'm too attached to my DIs!). Another fabulous and stunning make. Hugs Sxx

Well sweetie! It just doesnt matter at all which kind of medium you use - you the master of them all! This can hardly be your first one with di markers?? It is so beautiful time stops ticking for a while :) Love the little girl, she is so cute! And the details you added around the image is beyond gorge! The little snowflakes are so stunning!
Gorge! If this is what you make when you lack mojo, then I dont dare even think about making a card today. ;) My mojo is also lacking - big time!

Biggest of hugs!

Stunning coloring as always, Dena! Love the dies you've used. My mojo is lacking, because of to many other stuff going around these days.

Hello Dena

What a lovely card you've made, I really love it. I can learn a lot from you and it is so nice since I have my own blog I can follow you.
In the Netherlands we say "sleeing" haha, looks all the same.
Have a nice day, hugs,

The card is lovely as always...I would like to ask a question if I may. There are lots of different elements to your cards - such as the texture medium, sewing, die cuts etc. I wondered if you made each card separately or do you do the elements at one time..does that make sense?
Thanks again for showing us the way to go...I cannot go to LOTV without something beautiful "falling" into my basket!
Hugs Julie

Kay ... lol .. now that you pointed out the "sledding" and "slegding" .. I feel so riduculous. For one thing .. I never even NOTICED that they wrote it differently .. that's how much I pay attention right?!!! hahaha!!! I guess they look so similar in spelling (Please just nod your head and agree with me so I don't feel silly. LOL!), that I never even took notice? sigh .. oooh Elise. LOL!

Now your card .. she IS darling! I absolutely LOVE her! Gosh, you are so AMAZING with all of your colouring mediums! Everything is always so dreamy, so perfectly shaded and detailed .. LoooOoove your work like always! Simply GORGEOUS!

Hope you're enjoying a beautiful day outside!

Big Hugs to You Sweetheart,

This is absolutely stunning. And I agree, when I saw Sledging I thought it was a typo. :) Where in the US are you? The pics of your cabin remind me of northern Arizona. I live in Phoenix. --Gail
