Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar Challenge

Two posts in one day! Wow! That's downright amazing for me. To tell you the truth this may stay up here for a bit since I don't have anything else right now to show and my weekend is booked. haha!

First off I want to say a huge THANK YOU to Shop Bron for offering several of these adorable Tildas as blog candy on various blogs. I usually don't enter blog candy but I couldn't resist trying for this one, so I entered Kylie's and won!!! Wow! How lucky is that? I love her and now I want to create several more cards with her because I LOVE HER haha!!! Are Koala bears not the cutest stinkin things ever????

So my card today is for the Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar Challenge. My friend Jane is the hostess with the mostest today and she drew a sketch for all of us to follow. It was a fantastic sketch to work with!

I colored Tilda with distress inks and the papers are Tim Holtz -Shabby Vintage. The little heart die is from Whimsy. I will be using that one a ton! Love it, and it is called "Country Heart".

I'll just give you one guess where I got my flowers from! hahahah! Yes, I am so funny today I know! So in case you are just now visiting my blog, I got them from Wild Orchid Crafts! I used the Burgundy Cherry Blossoms, Rose Pink Trellis Rose and 15mm Open Rose, the lg. metal corner and the gorgeous gray satin ribbon!

Make It Colorful GDT!

Hi there! I'm thrilled to be one of the Guest Designers for Make it Colorful this week! Thanks so much for having me ladies!

Our challenge this time around is "Shading Reds". Use various colors to give your red depth such as browns, blacks, purple, etc.

I had a ball merging these images. I used Geeky Love and Daffodil Dell. There was an awesome tutorial at the Make It Crafty site that helped me do this very easily and you can find it here!

I colored my images with distress inks again. The reds are a mixture of Aged Mahogany and Fired Brick. To add depth, I added Black Soot in the shadow areas.

A picture of the tag tucked away. The sentiments are both from Close To My Heart. My papers are a combination of MME and Maja Designs. The roses and poppies are from Wild Orchid Crafts!

Lili of the Valley Lavender and Lace!

Hey y'all! I'm back to show you my card for the Lavender and Lace challenge at the Lili's Little Fairies Challenge Blog.

Now some of you may be wondering why I am not on the LOTV challenge team anymore, weeeeeelllllll, I just felt I had too many design team obligations and needed to cut back a bit. I am still on the LOTV Shop team, but will enter challenges when I have time.

My card is cut out with my CTMH Cricut Cartridge that I have been talking about. It has several card shapes to try out. This one is different and I like it a lot!!!

I colored the sweet "Never Too Old For Cupcake" with distress inks and loaded it down with glitter! You can find this stamp at the LOTV store. The icing is snowtex and then glitter on top of that. There are pearls from my Pearl Maker all along the circle scallop. All my flowers, lace, star pearl are from Wild Orchid Crafts!!! The paper is a download off the internet somewhere.

This picture was to show you the texture of the icing, but I'm not sure it helps much!

WOC Challenge

How you doing today? I tell ya, I am ready for some pretty weather here, it has been so gloomy!

I have a card today for the Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge! I got this stamp over at Belles and Whistles when she had an awsome sale! I love these older Elisabeth Bell stamps. I first saw them over at Sugar Nellie and never got around to buying them.

Since I am a MAJOR cat fan, I loved this one! Our challenge is "CREATURE COMFORTS", it fits in just fine!

I colored her with distress inks.

The flowers I used are 25mm Baby Pink Open Rose, White Lilies, 15mm Baby Pink Open Rose, Semi Open Roses, and Paper Blooms all from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I got a Mary Engelbright address book the other day and it inspired me to put the little checkered border! She uses that a lot!

LOTV Valentine Project!

Hello everyone! First let me say a big thank you to all the sweet comments regarding my FIL. We all are adjusting slowly and in time the tears will be replaced with just wonderful memories of a great man. You guys really are the best!!!!!!!!!

I have a little project featuring an adorable Lili of the Valley image today.

This image is called "LOVE GROWS" and is found under the occasions tab HERE! What a cute little couple they are!!!!!

The flowers are from my very favorite online store in the world WILD ORCHID CRAFTS!!!

You can put candy or favors in this little heart pouch! I told you that I got the new Cricut cartridge by CTMH for Christmas and this is one of the patterns I printed out! I cut it at 11" and it is pretty huge haha! It measures a little over 6" total once folded. I have had this pattern for years in the cut out version which you can find HERE. It is so much nicer when it is cut out for me!!!!

Yes, I filled it with leftover Christmas candy. I am back on my healthy kick so I need to get rid of the "bad for me stuff".

Here is a picture of the backside. Don't laugh, I really did mean to put the letter on catty whompus (?) but they are not exactly how I placed them before glue haha! That glue stuck pretty quickly! yikes! Oh well, you get the idea right! No stressing over crafts for me!

I'm Back!

Hello my sweet blogging friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and look forward to an awesome 2012! Wow! I know I have been gone for so long. I have a little explanation below of what all has been going on with me, but in the mean time I have a card for the Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge!

For those of you that have that awesome Maja Designs paper pad Vintage Winter, you know that some of those papers can be used year round, so I gathered the reds from the collection. I noticed that the red is a bit more subdued than my gorgeous reds from Wild Orchid Crafts so I dug into my stash and found these Mahogany colored roses that blended very nicely with the reds in the paper. I seem to grab these Mahogany ones quite a bit! I also used some Lt. Mocha Brown Roses that go so well with kraft paper. I added a two-toned Chocolate Rose, some Natural Cotton Lace and some jute string to finish it off! All my flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts!!!

One of my Christmas presents from my hubby was a cricut cartridge by Close to My Heart. It is amazing! They have stamps to match the shapes!!! I love it! So on my card that shape and sentiment are from CTMH. I bought mine from Niki.

My sweet image is from Lili of the Valley. This stamp was released last year, but will always be a favorite of mine. I think these little children are sooooo adorable it makes my heart melt.

Just a little update as to why I have been gone. My very sweet father in law passed away on Jan. 1 after becoming ill early in December. He lived an hour and half away from us and we were going back and forth and staying in the hospital waiting room all day and night for several weeks. We will miss him greatly!!! He was a wonderful man! I am so proud that I have a little piece of him in my hubby because he acts and looks so much like him. We are fortunate that Tom has a wonderful family support system to get through this very big change, he is the baby of 8 children and they are very close. Anyhow, that is where we have been.

I will be back soon! I am slowly getting back to a groove.

Embellished Frame Gift

Hello everyone! I made a gift for a friend this Christmas and I thought I would show it to you. I got the idea from Tab's blog. She made one several months ago.

The frame was covered in Picket Fence Crackled paint then I added the Hanglar girl colored in copics, but the real fun came when I started picking out which gorgeous flowers to add!!! So here you go, this is the list:

35mm Pale Peach Trellis Rose, 30 mm Coral Large Wild Roses, White Cherry Blossoms, White Sweetheart Blossoms, 10mm Pale Peach Open Rose, Gypsophilia, and Large Metal Corners all of these flowers are found at Wild Orchid Crafts!

Christmas is around the corner, I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!! You meet the best friends with blogging and I am especially happy to have some of the most wonderful, caring, generous, and talented friends ever! You guys make this sooooo worth doing!! I decided to make this cute double pocket card. I used the instructions from the youtube video HERE.

I used the small deep red gardenia, 25mm deep red rose, 15mm olive open rose, sweetheart blossoms, Crown pin, and seam binding all from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I'm not feeling so great the past few days, so I'll make this short.

Hi! How many of you have been following along with the Tim Holtz Twelve Tags of Christmas? Oh, I wish I had time to make them all! Here is my version of one of his tags using my gorgeous Wild Orchid Crafts products!!!!

Here you can see I used the 25mm Deep Red Open Rose, Holly Berries, Semi-open Rose buds, and white cotton lace.

I used the pretty Crystal Drops and I hand dyed some vintage seam binding at the top.

My paper on the tag is from a hymnal book. I found some hymnals at an antique store for 35 cents a piece!

I'm sorry I'm a little MIA. I have been gone the past 4 weekend out of town and then having my cabinets restained during the week, so crafting has gone to the back burner for a bit. Hopefully after Christmas things will calm down. haha!

Spotlighted at Simply Sassy!

Hey girls! I got the sweetest email from Maria asking if I would like to make a card for the last Simply Sassy spotlight of the year along with several others. I said "Of course", because I soooo love these adorable little girls from Sugar Nellie!!!

Be sure to go have a look at the work from some of the other girls at the Simply Sassy blog.

This little Simply Sassy girl is called "Little Light of Mine" and you can find her at Funkykits! I colored her with distress inks and used very old pages from a book on my card. My flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I used the small Gardenia, Trellis Rose, and 10mm Open Roses. The raffia is also from WOC and the metal piece on top.

Advent Calendar for WOC!

Hello my blogging friends! Thank you so much for coming by my blog! My card today is for the new challenge at Wild Orchid Crafts! Our theme is an easel card. This was totally inspired by Debby who made this card here! Her card is ADORABLE!!! Be sure to have a look!

I tried to go with a bit of a Vintage style for this card, but I stink at that, but had fun trying haha! Since I used the absolutely gorgeous papers from Maja Design again, I felt I needed to at least try this style! I went out and found a free clipart of this Santa and made a little advent.

I used jump rings to hold the little numbers that can be flipped to the back of the card.

Here's a shot of the cute Christmas wooden shapes from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I tie-dyed my Vintage Seam Binding by spritzing with Peeled Paint, Walnut, and Pineneedles Distress Inks, then sprayed with water and set outside to dry.

I love the gorgeous big natural lace from WOC, isn't it so pretty? The large Poinsettia was also added to my card and the stamens removed. I spritzed it a bit with Walnut Stain DI just to tone down the brightness of the red.

Whoa! Two cards in a row. I am doing good! haha!

My card today is for the new Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar challenge! This time my friend Donald has picked "LOTS OF SPARKLE" to go along with our monthly "Anything Goes" challenge.

The sweetest blog friend sent me this amazing Maja Design papers!!! Thank you girlie!!!!! OMG! I love every single sheet! Wow! I can't wait to see the other pads they come out with.

I tried something a little different and that was stamping a light grey outline. I tried my own little version with this techniqe using my distress inks.

I used the gorgeous curly roses, and lilies from Wild Orchid Crafts and hit them with a little Stardust stickles. I also used a pearl brad in the center of the snowflake.

Isn't she a cute Tilda? I really like her a lot!! I got her from Magnolia-licious!

Sending Warm Fuzzies!

Hello ladies, I know!!!! It has been forever since I posted. You know how it goes with Thanksgiving and family and all, then putting up the tree! Whew! haha! I hope all my US friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!

Can you believe I am not showing a Christmas card today?! Well, this week at the Lili of the Valley Challenge Blog we have the theme "ANYTHING BUT A CHRISTMAS CARD". So there you have it! It was a perfect opportunity to whip out those adorable new fairy stamps!

This is my very favorite from the release! Oh my she is adorable squeezing her little bear! I LOVE IT! I colored this cutie with Distress Inks and had a ball embellishing with all the purple details.

Here you see my Lt. Violet Lg. Wild Rose, Lilac Poppies, 10mm White Open Rose, Violet Rosebuds all from Wild Orchid Crafts. I also used the metal corners from Wild Orchid and added Picket Fence Crackle paint.

An Advent Calendar!

Girls, beware of several pictures here! This took me about two days to complete.

I made this advent calendar for the new Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge. Our theme this time around is "Child's Christmas". This can be a card, a project, anything for a child. With this in mind, I went with a girlie color scheme for my advent.

I got the instructions from a very talented lady name QBee (Brenda). She has a wonderful video on how to construct this little advent and I had a total blast making it and loading it up with my Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and lace!!!! I changed up the top part, because I wanted it to look like a house, but the rest I got from her. Please stop by her blog and see her darling version in green and red!!!!!

I used tiny bells all laced on through holes that I punched and tied into each individual box. My flowers were painted with white acrylic paint and I added pearls along the bottom with my Pearl Maker Pen. Oh, and I used thicker cardboard for the base and covered it with cardstock so that it would stand well.

You can see the German Glitter glass that I used on the edge of the roof along with more tiny pearls below the flowers. Also the lace is Guipure lace and those cute little bell is from WOC. The DP is from Melissa Frances.

This is how it opens. On the video Brenda uses a SU punch, which I didn't have, so I found the exact same cut out on my Storybook cartridge for my Cricut and put 25 on my machine and pushed "cut"!!!! Too easy. The boxes measure about 1"x1" when folded. I also cut the numbers out of my Storybook cartridge.

I would love to see you make one of these cute boxes and let me know so I can come see it. It really was fun to make, just give yourself plenty of time to work on it.

Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar Challenge

Hello all! my card for today is for the Just Magnollia and Hanglar Stanglar Challenge. Our theme was set by my sweet friend Mina and it is "RIBBON". We want to see all those cute Magnolia or Hanglar cards with ribbons. I'd say that is a pretty easy challenge. So here is my card!

I really like this latest Christmas collection from Magnolia. I prefer to get my stamps from Magnolialicious! She has great prices and has really great service.

For this card I really just wanted to focus on a scene and I thought the Make It Crafty scenes would be just perfect. I used the Village Scene and colored all the images with Distress Inks.

I used tons of Snow Tex and glitter to give the wintery feeling. The flower in the corner is from Wild Orchid Crafts and I added some pinecones I bought last year from Hobby Lobby. I made a teeeeeeeeny tiny paper bag with a tag in it. I have a very sweet friend that I admire that makes these pins and so I am totally copying her!!! Thanks so much girlie!!!!!

The ribbon is the Vintage Seam binding from Wild Orchid Crafts and has been tie dyed with Fired Brick and Walnut Stain Distress Inks. I added a Large Moonstone to the center of the ribbon also from WOC.

Hi guys! I bet you can't guess who I made this card for can you? haha! Yep, my someone special is my sweet hubby Tom! He is the very best hubby in the world!!!!!! This is our theme for this week at the Lili of the Valley Challenge "CHRISTMAS CARD FOR SOMEONE SPECIAL".

I added some Twinklets to the snow and the flowers. I added a red doily to the background that I got from Walmart in the baking section and distressed the edges a bit. You can see I am getting a lot of use out of the wonderful postage stamps from Lili of the Valley. They add that little something extra that I LOVE!

A Frame Card with Tilda

Woo Hoo I was able to make a card for fun and so I made a Frame Card. In my usual fashion it is very bright! haha! I just don't know what it is, but I start out going for a soft look and then whoops, it's bright! I did a little distressing to tone down some of the brightness though.

This little gal is colored with copics and my papers are Bo Bunny! If you look closely you will see I used the new Postal stamps from Lili of the Valley. They are so adorable!

You can see more pearl snowflakes! These are not so big and look pretty neat. I added lots of snow with my Snow Tex pen on the fence and trees. I even used the Pearlmaker pen on the tree and around the opening. I used two tone cherry blossoms, 15mm Plum open roses, 5mm Plum closed rosebuds, white guipure lace and vintage seam binding all from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I thought in this direction you could see the dimension of the card a little better.

I am entering this into Magnolia Stamp Lovers where the theme is Christmas.

All Our Dreams!

I'm back with a card that features the sweet new baby stamps from Lili of the Valley! This stamp is called "All Our Dreams". That little sentiment also comes with the stamps.

I used Pion Designs papers, they are sooooo gorgeous and from my sweet friend Louise. I colored the image in Distress Inks and then loaded the card up with all my favorite Wild Orchid Crafts flowers!!! I used the 25mm Pale Pink Open Roses, Sm. Flat Ivory Gardenia, 15mm Moss Green and Pale Pink Open Roses and Gypsophilia for filler. The border around the card is a Crealies punch.

Christmas Angel!

I'm back ladies with another card featuring the adorable characters of Krista Smith!!! I am sooooo happy with all of them and their little faces!! This one is called Christmas Angel.

I am entering this card into the Saturated Canary Challenge. The theme is 1 image, 2 DP, and 3 embellishments. Now I wasn't sure if the embellishments meant variety or actual number, so of course since I use tons of Wild Orchid Crafts, I went with the variety angle! haha! So I used flowers, metal corners and lace.

So doggone innocent looking huh?! LOVE HER!!!!

Here are a few of my Wild Orchid Crafts flowers. I used the Sm. Deep Red Gardenias, 25mm Ivory Open roses, and Holly berries. The punch you see is a MS Pine Branch Punch.

I think I need to do some other things with this character, she is just sooo cute!!!

Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge - Blue and Brown!

Hey everyone! Did everyone have a great weekend? We had a good one. The time changed and I am having a hard time adjusting! I am going to bed soooo early and getting up at the crack of dawn! I'm not fond of this time change because it gets dark so early that my poor hubby goes to work in the dark and then comes home in the dark and we are outdoor people, so it just messes us all up! Oh well, we will adjust soon.

Time for a new challenge at the Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge Blog. I tell ya, every week that I see what my teammates make for this challenge, I am impressed. Their work is just amazing, so go check it out and join in with us for the "BLUE AND BROWN" color theme this week.

I am so proud of my self for FINALLY using the little shaker pieces that I bought last year at NEC. They are pretty small though and not many of my stamps will fit in there, but this little cutie from Lili of the Valley did and I am so pleased. I used the gorgeous papers from Nitwit called "Heavenly". They were perfect for the challenge. I also used the new Postage Collection from Lili of the Valley. OMG! I just LOVE it!!!! How cute are all those little postoid stamps?!!!

Lili of the Valley - Bright and Sparkly

Hi girls! I'm back with a card for the Lili of the Valley Challenge and the theme this week is "Bright and Sparkly"! Pretty easy with all the sweet Christmas stamps out right now.

I used the adorable "Christmas Bears Sledge" stamp from LOTV and added lots of glitter. The image is colored with Prisma Pencils. I added some white highlights with white acrylic paint. The papers are Bo Bunny.

Sneak Peek!

Howdy girls! It's time to show you another sneak peek from the upcoming release from Lili of the Valley. This one is called "Champagne Fountain".

I colored this little image with pencils and stitched all around the edges. I had to add lots of glitter to bring on the celebration theme! haha! I wasn't really sure how to color mice, so sorry if they are not colored correctly. I think we can have a creative license for this sort of thing, don't you? haha!

Don't forget, the new release we be available at the LOTV shop online on November 10th, but if you are at the show Thursday, you may see them there!

If you haven't checked out the Whimsy Stamps Magazine yet, I HIGHLY recommend it! Oh wow, there are project tutorials and beautiful cards galore! I love it! This issue teamed up with Wild Orchid Crafts to show some amazing work!!!! You all know how much I adore my Wild Orchid Crafts products! haha! I used the adorable new Winter Fairy by Sylvia Zet that is now available in rubber at Whimsy Stamps. This is defo my fav ever Wee Stamp. She is just too sweet for words.

Tools: MS Pine Branch Punch, Spellbinders Lacy Circles

Embellishments: Lg. Burgundy Curly Rose, Ivory Cherry Blossom, Gypsophilia, Cream Seam Binding, lace all from Wild Orchid Crafts. I also added Twinklets Diamond Dust for the snow and Stickles on the wings.

I decided to make a little ornament also.

I have stamped with Memento Black onto muslin fabric then colored with copics. I sandwiched the layer like so, Top-Muslin, then batting, then circle cardboard for stability, then muslin on the very back. I added lace and sewed it all around. It really was super easy. I used the same WOC flowers on this as on the card!

I literally couldn't wait to show you this card! I even showed my hubby! haha!

Did you see that Krista put up more images on her Etsy site? OMG! I had to get SEVERAL!! These characters make me smile the whole time I am coloring them. I don't know, it is something about the big cheeks and big eyes! haha! I missed the challenge for last week. Anyhow, on to my card.

I went to Hobby Lobby and bought this suede trim, perfect to match her little outfit. I snipped some feathers from an arrangement I have at the house (I know, naughty) and added a ceramic acorn to bring on the Thanksgiving feeling. I even put a little sentiment on the inside that reads "For thy bounteous blessings, we give thanks O Lord".

Now, don't anyone die of a heart attack or anything, but I used copics on this one! I know right!! Quite obvious I need more practice, but hey, I was in the mood to use those little pricey things.

Oh yeah! I also snipped some beading off some trim that sits on my dining room table (just a tad though) haha! You can see I used the amazing flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. I used a Lt. Mocha Curly Rose, 15mm 2-tone Chocolate Brown open rose, and 10mm Old Gold open rose.

Papers are a mixture of stash, the one I remember the name for is the Pion Designs with the butterflies (love those).

Giddy over a stamp, silly, I know, but it is the small things in life right?! haha! I'm super excited to play with her Christmas ones that I bought! I would love to hear what your favorite digi of Krista's is.

LOTV Cute James Bear!!!

Oh girls, I love these cute bears from LOTV. I didn't have enough time last year to really play with all of them! Time to rectify that now!!!!!!!

Seriously cute bear huh? haha! Well, he is called "James Bear - Pile of Presents" and you can find him HERE. He is colored with Distress Inks. My papers are Bo Bunny and I used the fabulous sketch from The Sweet Stop, so I will be entering it there.

A pretty flat card for me I'd say! Yippee!

WOC - Santa Clause Is Coming To Town!

Hello all! I'm back with a card for the new Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge. Our theme this time around is "Santa Clause Is Coming To Town". We would like to see Santa on creations. Be sure to make a point to pay attention to our rules to be eligible for the prize. There have been some that have had to be disqualified and we want everyone's creations to count!

I decided to use the super cute image from LOTV called "Father Christmas" and he is colored with distress inks. I love it! The holly papers are Bo Bunny. Some of my Wild Orchid Crafts embellishments are:

Sm. Metal Corners, Olive Trellis Rose, 25mm Deep Red Open Rose, 15mm Cream Open Roses, and Holly Berries.

I stitched all around and used a sketch from Pink {Ink} Sketch Challenge where Ann has given us a wonderful sketch!!!!

I used some White Fun Flock on his beard and Stardust Stickles on the snow.

Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar - Think Pink!

I guess you can figured from my title that the new challenge at Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar is "Think Pink". We want to see some pink on your cards this week in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

I still love this sweet stamp! She is awfully cute! I colored her with Distress Inks.

I used some adorable new flowers that a very sweet friend from Australia sent me!! Thank you so much girl! I love them! The pink and red one is an orchid and then there is the cute pink stamen cluster and also a water lily. My Hellebores, Rose Hips, and Guipure Lace are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Lili of the Valley - Bingo Time!

Hello everyone! I'm back with a new challenge at the Lili of the Valley Challenge Blog. It's Team A's turn to show you what they've made, so on to my card!

Yes siree it is snowing pearls! haha! I used the Pearl Maker pen to add to the snowflakes and now I wish I would have maybe used something else. Oh well! Here is the Bingo card that I followed for the challenge:

Now you all knew that I had to use my Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, so I went with Gems, Flowers, Ribbon&Lace.

You can see here the new lilies, baby pink small gardenia, Self Adhesive Rhinestone (gems) and the Guipure lace from Wild Orchid Crafts. The flowers were all spritzed with Pearl Glimmer Mist.

This little cutie is from the latest Lili of the Valley Christmas release and she is called "Shine A Light" and can be found HERE! She was colored with Prisma Pencils.

My swirls are a Magnolia Doohickey and the snowflakes are a Stampin Up strip called Northern Frost.

Remember me tellling you I was going to make flat and 5x7 cards for Christmas? haha! Well, obviously that went out the door. I just don't like the 5x7 shape as well and gosh, I NEED my flowers haha! KaChing on sending all these out.

Christmas Bears - Mistletoe!

Just popping on here to show you a new card featuring the sweet "Christmas Bears - Mistletoe" by Lili of the Valley! Awe, so cute!

I colored with Prisma Pencils and used lots of textures for the snow effect. I used Fun Flock on the trim and the edges of the kraft cardstock. I tried to use my friend Christine's technique of embossing cs with the cuddlebug folder then highlighting with a white pad, but my pad was not white enough. See her card here! It is so gorgeous!

My pearls, Cotton Lace, Vintage Seam Binding and Pearl Brads are all from Wild Orchid Crafts. My snowflakes are again from the SU! Northern Frost die strip.

I used the sketch from Sketch and Stash, so I will be entering this card there!

Meet Tammy!

Hello there! I finally have a chance to play with some stamps that I have had for a while now. This one is called "Tammy" from the Simply Sassy line at Sugar Nellie! They are drawn by the uber talented Krista Smith! I really love her work.

Wild Orchid Crafts - Christmas Theme!

Hi! I had the best weekend!!!! You want to know why? haha! Because my baby Wade, came home from college to see us and brought his very sweet girlfriend with him. We had a wonderful time visiting with them. Now, I am just a little sad to see him go back! Oh well, I will see him in a few weeks for a family wedding! On to my card!!!

This week at the Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge we have the super fun theme of "CHRISTMAS".

My Christmas decorations in my home are burgundys and golds so I LOVE using burgundy on my cards. Something about the richness of the color! Here I use the gorgeous Burgundy Curly Rose and 15mm Olive and Cream Open Roses placed in a mix of Holly leaves from various dies and punches.

Here is a detailed picture of the Natural Cotton Lace and the Raffia Lace from Wild Orchid Crafts. The little circle sentiment is something from the dollar bin at Michaels. haha

I colored the sweet Silver Fairy from Whimsy Stamps with distress inks. You can find her HERE in rubber now!!! The papers are from IOD and I LOVE them! The gold accents are a Spellbinders set called Parisian Accents.

Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar - Coffee and Cream

Hello everyone! Thank you all so much for the sweet comments on my most recent cards. It seems everyone enjoyed the Whimsey Stamps Hop with the Sylvia Zet images!

My card today is for the Just Magnolia and hanglar Stanglar Challenge. Pops is our hostess this time around and she chose the theme of "Coffee and Cream".

Seems I have been using these colors a lot lately with all the Fall themes and such! haha!

I'm also happy that I didn't buy any of the last Magnolia release with the sports figures. It gives me more time to use some of the ones that I love that don't get enough attention, like this one. I think she is adorable. I used 3 different Magnolia stamps for this card. I figure I will write something in the sign when I decide where it is going. I don't know, do you have any ideas?

I have been doing so good not buying any new paper lately. I really need to use the mounds I already have. I know you hear me don't you? haha! So, these are those Basic Grey from last year. I loved the colors in them, but when I went to use the little eskimo paper, I was stumped, thennnnnnnn, here Lili of the Valley comes out with this cutie and it was perfect! I love when that happens.

Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar

Hello crafty friends! Let me just tell you, I have had a doozy of a week! It all started with the food poisoning that my husband and I got from ground beef. You would know, the day after we ate it and got sick, the news reports of a recall on that same beef. It had ecoli! OMG! We thought we were going to die! Anyhow, then other things went on, so I have absolutely no creativity in me at the moment. This is a little disclaimer to my card haha!

Well, I did use the super cute Hanglar that my friend Tammi bought me! Thank you so much sweetie! I can't believe I am just now getting around to using it. I wanted a bit of a different colored look, so I went with the crayon look. I know weird, but it is just that kind of week. OMG! I'm not even telling you that it is for the Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar Challenge, duh!!! Jane made this adorable sketch for us to follow and we have a super cute prize this week, so go check it out!

Anyhow, I used MME papers and Prisma Pencils to color without tons of blending. I drew my own stitch lines with a micron pen and put little bows in the corners.

I have a shower in my hometown to go to this weekend, so I won't be posting for a few days! I do appreciate you stopping by and saying hello! You guys are really the best. I hope to be back to myself very soon! Thanks again for hangin with me! haha!

Rainy Day!

Hello all! I have something special to show you today! I was so excited when I saw my friend Claudia's post using these adorable Krista Smith digi images!!!! I didn't even know she started selling digis until then. These characters warm my heart!!!! I love them all! The first one I bought was Rainy Day. EEEK! I love her!

Anyhow, I decided to make this one a Joy fold card. Here is the inside:

Sorry, I didn't get a good picture, but the verse says "Thank goodness for the rainy days, without them, we wouldn't have the rainbows".

I know she has started a challenge blog and you can find it here!

I was totally loving the pinks and green in this paper, so I used the gorgeous new Mixed Green Tones Pack of Tulips from Wild Orchid Crafts. I also used a Rose Pink Trellis rose, white Sweetheart Blossoms, and a 10mm Lt. Lime Green Open Rose.

Now look closely and you will see another new toy purchase. Yep, it's one of those rolled roses dies from My Favorite Things. My friend Debbie, made some adorable cards with hers so I couldn't resist buying them.

Wild Orchid Crafts - Make It Sparkle with Stars

So here's my card today for the Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge with a nice theme of Sparkle and Stars. I thought it was a good chance to use the gorgeous German glass glitter and my sweet LOTV image.

This image is called "Little Holly" and can be found at the Lili of the Valley store! She has been colored with distress inks.

My papers are from a very sweet blogging friend and are by Pion Design! I thought they were a very pretty color. Thank you so much girlie, you are the best!

You can see the little stars I punched out and covered with German Glass Glitter and I also used the gorgeous new Lilies that Wild Orchid is now carrying. A few of the other flowers I used are the Ivory Classic Sweet Rose, 15mm Ivory and Pale Pink Open roses, 10mm baby blue open roses, 25mm Ivory Wild rose, gypsophilia, and Ivory Insertion Aglaise Lace.

You can see I spritzed all the flowers with Pearl Glimmer Mist.

I am so used to using the metric system with Wild Orchid, but now US customers will see it also in the American System and US currency for prices! Yippee! No VAT Tax either! Wild Orchid Rocks! They listen to their customers.

Fall Themed Magnolia!

Wow! It's already Friday! This week went by so fast! Today I have a card for the Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar Challenge. Michelle is our hostess with the mostest, so she picked "Fall OR Back To School" theme for our challenge.

You know, there are times when I just have NO ideas! Does that ever happen to you? Well, I decided to have a long gander at Camilla's blog for inspiration, so this card is totally inspired by her gorgeous work!!! I love how she uses those tags and puts so many details.

She is colored with distress inks, of course! I made my little grass again, but this time I didn't use a lot of green. Since it is Fall all the grass is turning brown haha!

I used a 25mm Mahogany Open Rose, 15mm Deep Ivory Open Rose, and gorgeous Natural Cotton Lace all from Wild Orchid Crafts!

LOTV Angelic Lute!

I'm back! The card I have to show you today is for the new LOTV Challenge - Aqua and White with the option of glitter!

I love these adult looking angels from Lili of the Valley. I just think they are so elegant looking! Anyhow, have you ever made a card and then tried like the dickens to get a good photo? I always seem to have this trouble with lighter colored cards. In real life I really like this card, but not so much in the photo. Oh well, at least you get the idea! Isn't she pretty?

This Memory Box Die was very interesting. There were all these teeny tiny pieces to be punched out, lots and lots of detail! I do like the look though.

The design team have all come up with something awesome for your inspiration. I am always amazed at the different projects using the same color scheme. It is fun to see other people's interpretation! So, I hope you will join us this week!

Oh girls! I just have to tell you about the awesome service I received from Susana's Custom Cards. I ordered the new Syliva Zet Stamps on Friday and they came in my mailbox on Monday!!!!! Wow! I never receive stuff that fast. Very impressive!!! So this is one of the new stamps that I ordered. Isn't she a doll???? She is called "Hope".

I made a little Keepsake Box because it looks like she is sitting on one! haha! This was really easy to make. The instructions can be found HERE!

It's Time for Fall!

Hello ladies! Well, our fall weather is now gone and we are back into the triple digit heat again! Hopefully it won't last long and hopefully we will be getting some rain. The fires are now getting closer to my house. There was one about 5 miles away today, but thankfully they put it out pretty quickly.

On to my card for the Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar Challenge. This time the very awesome Jacque has given us a very sweet sketch and asked us to incorporate FALL!!!

My very sweet blog friend Tammi sent me this image. The first thing I thought of when I saw it was Fall, so here it is.

LOTV Challenge

Ahhhh yes! Time for a fun new challenge at the LOTV Challenge Blog!!!! Whooo Hoo! This time the theme is Red, Green and White and an optional theme of Christmas!!! Just in time for everyone getting their recent orders!

I have been waiting to use this gorgeous stamp for soooo long. It is called "Little Festive Robins". I thought the sentiment was perfect for the image since it is their little birdie home! haha! I am entering this card into the Papertake Weekly Challenge where the theme is "Things With Wings".

I colored this one with Prisma Pencils and used the Sparkly Technique to glam it up. You can find a quick tutorial on this technique that I did HERE.

The papers are from the amazing Nitwits Collection and are called Simple Joys. I can't seem to get enough of these paper right now. They are all so perfect for the sweet LOTV stamps!!!!!

The Guipure Lace, Flat backed pearls, and poinsettia are all fromWild Orchid Crafts. Be sure to check in with them now and then because right now I saw today an amazing sale on some Ivory Roses!!! I love to use ivory and think it is a really great deal. Also, they have these wonderful new brads that are a must have.

Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge!

Time for a new challenge at the Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge. This week we have a sketch for you to follow along with.

I have decided that I am going to start making my cards 5x7 and somewhat FLAT for Christmas! haha! We'll see how long that lasts since my pretty WOC flowers are a not so flat!

Anyhow, I used one of the super cute new Christmas stamps from Lili of the Valley called "ALL IN A ROW". I colored them with copics this time since I wanted a very crisp white paper and my watercolor paper is a little off white. I needed the crisp white paper to match these gorgeous Nitwits papers called "Simple Joys Too".

For this card I went outside and picked some very fine twigs that seemed relatively flat and loaded them with glue and then sprinkled on the amazing Silver German Glass Glitter from Wild Orchid. I really like the effect! Super sparkly!!!!!!!!!! Other glitters just don't have the same look.

The Merry Christmas stamp is a Hero Arts stamp (I believe).

I used a couple different sizes of the poinsettias and the cute little sweetheart blossoms from Wild Orchid Crafts, along with some flat backed rhinestones.

Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar

This past week here in Houston has had some of the most gorgeous weather! It's now finally cool enough for Rambo to have his 3 walks a day! haha! The only problem is the drought. It is literally killing 10% of the large trees in Houston. I am so sad to see the large, pretty trees turning brown. It has been sooooo long since we have had a significant rain. There are several fires going on right now burning tons of acreage. Most of the fires are not very close to us, but I feel for the people having to leave their homes.

My card for this week is for the Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar Challenge. Bev has created a very nice sketch for us all to use.

I have had a lot going on lately and some deadlines to meet and so I had to find an image that was already colored in order to finish on time, so this was colored months ago and I just searched around for papers to match. I don't usually use browns, but I rather like how this turned out.

Oh here's the sketch! Love it!

I used distressed ink for the coloring and all of the amazing chocolaty flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts! I also used the fun raffia ribbon that is now available on their website.

Sorry for my lack of blogging, I will try my best to come visit you more this coming week!

The cute holly leaves are from a very sweet friend and they are made by Bazzill.

Howdy! It's time again for the Lili of the Valley challenge! This time we have a gorgeous sketch by Pops! I actually turned the sketch since my image went sideways. Thanks Pops, it's a great one!

I have used another sneak peek from Lili of the Valley coming out September 6th!!!! OMG! I LOVE HER! I told you how much I love angels and she is one super cute angel. I am telling you it took me minutes to color her too! Gotta love that!

Also, do you see these gorgeous papers from Nitwit Collections? They are called "HEAVENLY". I really like the soft pastels of these papers and there are some super cute images that come with this particular pack.

Wild Orchid Crafts - Tags, Tags, Tags!

It's time again for another fabulous challenge at Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge blog with another wonderful prize to be won! Be sure you are using Wild Orchid Crafts on your card that you enter and enter no more than 3 times to be in the drawing!

Our theme this week is Tags, Tags, Tags. My very sweet friend Louise makes the most gorgeous tags so I was trying to give mine that type of look, but alas, it didn't work out nearly as well as hers. I did use some super fun products from Wild Orchid though. I was just itching to use this white organza rose trim that is all the rage right now. It gives such a wonderful shabby chic look! I also used the white cotton lace, pink sweetheart blossoms, cherry blossoms, 20 mm white open roses, and 25mm yellow wild rose. I dipped them all in my diamond dust glitter.

Now, for some other BIG news!!!!!!!!!!! Whimsey Stamps is turning some of the Wee Stamps into RUBBER!!!!!! Now how cool is that. You can see the details at Sylvia Zet's Blog for more details!! For all of you who are fearful of digi, you will now be able to get some of these cuties in rubber! Mine happens to be a digi called "Suzi With Bunny", which you can find HERE.

Here is what I did for the inside. Very simple, I didn't want any bulk. I used my Cricut Plantin cartridge to cut out the tags and just tied them together at the top with the beautiful Vintage Seam Binding from Wild Orchid!

I'm Still Here!

Ha ha! I promise I am still here. My crafting is a little slow right now, so sorry! Maybe I can get back in the groove real soon. I am still adjusting to Wade not being home. I keep expecting him to come through the door from school, but he really is gone (at least for 4 years) and it is a bit sadder than I expected. Unlike my daughter, I think we will be lucky to get a phone call once a week! Oh well, on to my card for today.

Let's Go Shopping!

Hello blogging friends! Can I just say right now that blogging friends are the MOST GENEROUS, SWEET people out there!!!? Recently I have received a few packages from some adorable friends and I am more than grateful for their gift and their friendships! You know who you are!!!!

I have made my card today with a few of the surprises I received.

EEEEK! Look at those papers! My friend knows how much I like these papers and it is so hard for us Americans to get our hands on them. Well, I straight away had to use them for my card. These are Pion Designs papers.

This card is for the new Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar challenge where the super talented Claudia has chosen the theme "Non-Traditional Sentiments". Instead of the same ole Happy Birthday, Get Well, etc. use something unique or quircky on your cards. My tag says:

I colored my image with distress inks.

I love how the plum colored Trellis Rose matched perfectly with these papers. You know how purples can be! I also used Cherry Blossoms and 15mm Open Roses from Wild Orchid Crafts!

The purple tulip and stick pen are from my friend that sent me these papers and the lace is from a different friend. Boy, do I feel special or what! Thank you girls!

I hope you will be sure and check out what the design team has done. They are so much better at the sentiment cards than I am and some are super funny!

Answering a Few Questions!

Recently I have had quite a few emails about what supplies I use for Distress Ink coloring. I have made some videos that are on Youtube, but here is a quick run down of what I use!

PAPER: Strathmore Watercolor Paper 90lb. I like this one because I can scrub and it doesn't ball up. I use 90lb. because it can go through my printer for digis! I use an Epson Printer to print with and it does NOT smudge. My HP Printer smudges terribly. My Epson is a cheap $49 Stylus NX105.

PAINTBRUSHES: I use three different brushes, all necessary for me haha! 1 large waterbarrel brush, a #0 round by American Painter made of Taklon, and a #1 Round by American Painter made of Taklon. These last two brushes are super cheap!!! I think they are $2.79 from Michaels and I replace the #1 pretty often as soon as it loses it's shape. See how it loses it shape below:

The one on the left is trash for me! Pass it on to the kiddos! I have found that once it loses it's shape, it doesn't hold the right amount of ink for me! It is either too wet or too dry.

INK: I always use the Distress Ink REFILLS. I know the pads can be used, but I just prefer to use the refills. I put a few drops in watercolor palette such as this:

I lay it in a drawer when I am done and don't cover it or anything. The ink will not dry out!

I think I have about covered most of the questions I have been getting! Feel free to comment if you have more questions and I will edit this post with answers!

OMG! I don't know if you have seen these adorable digis or not, but you have to check them out. This card is made using the adorable Wee Stamp called Wee Florist! Ok, even the name is cute! The amazingly talented Sylvia Zet is the artist and let me tell you! they are all CUTE!!!!

My card is for the new Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge this week! I have made a sketch for everyone to follow!!! I hope you will play along because there is always a FABULOUS prize with WOC and you have a whole two weeks to create something!

You see why I love her images? Such sweet faces! I colored her with Distress Inks.

The heart is covered in stickles and then I added the gingham bow.

Here's a bit of my Wild Orchid Crafts inventory I used haha! So many pretty products.

Two-toned Lilac Hellebores, 20mm Two tones opens roses, 15mm Lilac Open Roses, Lilac Cherry Blossoms, and Self Adhesive pearls

I used some very old paper lace that I had lying around and crimped it and put it around the circle. The papers are from my very favorite paper pad K&Co - Watercolor Bouquet!

A Few Magnolias for Sale!

Hi guys! I decided to do a little cleaning up with some of my stamps. I have a few for sale below. Most of my stamps have a tacky backing on them and NO foam. I use Aleene's Tacky Glue on the backs and I can stick them on any mounting blocks and for storage they stick on photo sheets like the ones in the photo. Summer Fun!

Woo Hoo! Summer is here in full force! It is just too hot to even walk my dog in the noon time. Poor guy, he is used to walking 3 times a day and now he is down to 2.

My card today is for the new Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar Challenge this week! The theme was set by the talented Jan who wants to see "Holiday Fun". I adore this cute Tilda with the Hula hoop! I used to love hula hooping as a child. It is so difficult and fun and you look like a total dork doing it, but it is FUN! haha!

I got my card idea from the Whiff of Joy tutorials! I thought this was a fun way to make a card. Here is what I did for the inside!

She looks like she is giving a hug, so I made a "Consider yourself hugged" sentiment!

Up and Away Card Tutorial

As I was searching through my old stamp stuff and templates, guess what I found???! Yep, my friend must have sent me a pattern because I had these pieces that resembled her card haha!

Be prepared my friends! I am not so good at these instructions. What I suggest is that you make yourself a "model" to start with and play around with what direction and shape you want your real one. It helps to have a "model" in front of you, I promise haha! So, I have created a tutorial with construction paper for you today, hoping the different colors of paper will help you put it together. Now, the construction paper is too flimsy to work properly with the movement, so bear in mind it is a model. I suggest you read through all the instructions before starting.

1. Start by cutting the pieces out and scoring on the dotted lines and cut on the straight lines. My pieces are the exact shape that my friend sent me and it has a cloud effect. Feel free to use straight lines or whatever works for your scene.

2. Take the largest cut piece (red) and attach the movement mechanism (blue) with STRONG tape or glue just on the bottom square of the blue piece. You can see I scribbled where there should be glue on the backside. Remember that the slit on the second piece needs to line up right next to the blue inner edge!!!!!

3. Now attach the smaller yellow piece to the red, using very strong tape again just on the bottom edge of the scored area. Make sure before attaching it permanently that it will fold together nicely.

4. Bring movement mechanism through the slit.

6. Glue or tape the little inner red flap, at the top scored portion and lay the card flat to attach so that it aligns perfectly.( Ignore the glue spots, that was for something else!)

7. Tada! Now you can see how your model is going to work and make a really pretty one! haha!

Christmas Puppy!

SOLD I would like to extend my most sincere sympathy for the people of Norway. What an aweful thing to happen!!! I will keep you all in my prayers!!

I have another card to show you today using a stamp from the newest Christmas release from LOTV called "Christmas Puppy". Awe! Isn't he cute? Ok, yes, they are all cute huh? If you didn't already know, the Christmas release is now on sale at the Lili of the Valley Store!!! Get a head start for Christmas and get them now! haha! That's what I am doing!

I used some gorgeous lace and a super pretty pin from my talented friend Elise . If you haven't checked out this girl's work, you are missing out! She is a new discovery for me and I LOVE her work!!!!!

I colored the puppy with copics and the papers are MME. My flowers are: baby pink small gardenia, blue cherry blossoms, 15mm ivory open rose, and Gypsophila all from Wild Orchid Crafts. I also used the self adhesive pearls and organza ribbon from Wild Orchid Crafts!!!
