This past week here in Houston has had some of the most gorgeous weather! It's now finally cool enough for Rambo to have his 3 walks a day! haha! The only problem is the drought. It is literally killing 10% of the large trees in Houston. I am so sad to see the large, pretty trees turning brown. It has been sooooo long since we have had a significant rain. There are several fires going on right now burning tons of acreage. Most of the fires are not very close to us, but I feel for the people having to leave their homes.
My card for this week is for the Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar Challenge. Bev has created a very nice sketch for us all to use.
I have had a lot going on lately and some deadlines to meet and so I had to find an image that was already colored in order to finish on time, so this was colored months ago and I just searched around for papers to match. I don't usually use browns, but I rather like how this turned out.
Oh here's the sketch! Love it!
I used distressed ink for the coloring and all of the amazing chocolaty flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts! I also used the fun raffia ribbon that is now available on their website.
Sorry for my lack of blogging, I will try my best to come visit you more this coming week!
Take care now and thank you for visiting my blog!
Hugs, Dena

ReplyDeleteHiya Dena my friend over the pond, Such another stunning card, i particularly love using browns and beiges as i love vintagey colours! Your card as per usual is absolutely stunning and i have to say i love your colouring with DI's ......i like to do that too but not all the time! gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way hope you get some much needed rain soon, i can't stand rain but i can't stand too much heat either, we need rain to keep everything growing properly but we also need it to break up all the heat in the air! we've hardly had any rain this summer in South Yorkshire but the temps are dropping little by little every day and its more bearable now in the 60's as we go into Autumn, (fall) my favourite season as its not too hot or too cold and the leaves turn beautiful oranges, browns and reds before they leave us again for some time!! so we should be getting rain anyday now, hope you do too hun!!! I'm doing a rain dance in my head as i type LMAO!!! Hugs to you darling, Vick xxxx
Oh wow, this is so gorgeous. Great job you've done. Hugs, Ankie

I know what you mean when you talk about Texas...I told my husband I felt like I was living on a time bomb.It is so scary to see all the fires up north and south of us and living on a farm.My prayers are for all the people that have lost everything and GOD give us RAIN
You stay safe
